The Sikh guru, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji founded the city Anandpur Sahib in 1665. Takht Shri Keshgarh
The foundation stone of Takht shri Keshgarh Sahib was laid in 30th march, 1689 and is located at the center of Anandpur Sahib. This is also known as one of five highest Sikh institutes in country. This is the birth place of Khalsa. In past times, the fort was almost destroyed by the Raja Ajmer Chand. The holy shrine was rebuilt in 1936-44 with two story gateway, wide courtyard and offices with 16 square meter hall. One room was sepratly built to preserve the sacred weapons as a relice from the time of Guru Gobind Singh ji.
